Charlotte Stamp Club

Recently I had the opportunity & priveledge to visit with the CSC at their monthly Sunday afternoon meeting. Although some members knew me, I was delighted with the warm welcome that I, as a stranger, received from many individuals. There were between 40 and 50 folk present – men, women and young people.

The meeting format was well done. The club has done away with a “business meeting” & apart from a few notices from President Gene, went straight to the philatelic presentation which was also different. For this meeting instead of a single 1/2 hour+ presentation, there were five mini-presentations – all different topics – I sure learned a thing or two.

Along with two other newcomers I was recognised and gave Greetings from our stamp club (CFSC) in Orlando. There was a live auction followed by refreshments.

Thank you to all who made my Sunday afternoon in Charlotte so pleasent and educational – I even bought a couple of lots in the auction!

BOOTH 21

You will find Jean and me at Table 21 during the Crystal City Stamp Show November 7 thru 9.  We will have a goodly stock of Great Britain  and British Empire/Commonwealth material with us, including individual stamps, complete long sets and covers.

We have also just added new World Wide Topicals that might just tickle your fancy! Whatever your wants, please drop by to say “Hello”.

Sarasota

We are proud to participate in the FSDA sponsored stamp show in Sarasota. It’s good to be involved with a local (well almost local – certainly within our State) event. Come and say ‘hello’.

In a couple of weeks we will be at the ASDA sponsored show in Washington – we’re really looking forward to meeting up with old friends in Crystal City. Hope to see you there.

Great Stamp Show

The Orlando show held this past weekend, and sponsored by the Florida Stamp Dealers Association, was a GREAT success with a number of new visitors (at least ‘new’ to Jean and me).  The adhoc Saturday evening meal was a welcome surprise – however we ate too much!

Now we look forward to our visit to Atlanta for the Stamp Dealers Association of Georgia hosted show. Hope to see you there.

I need a drink!

No! Not alcohol – just a cool drink, maybe water.  It is very hot here in Florida and we are loading the van for our trip to Hartford for the APS sponsered StampShow 2014.  It is HOT work for us old’ens!   We will bring some fresh material never offered by us previously – come, say Hi & take a look. We will be in the Hartford area for a few days and would be pleased to view/buy philatelic material that is no longer part of your passion. We then travel to Baltimore for the marvelous Balpex show and again hope to buy as well as sell interesting stamps and collections.
